This W&C Scott & Son sidelock shotgun is in great, used condition.
The English style walnut stock shows point checkering, a sterling silver initial plate, and a tear drop at the lock plates. It has minor handling marks and tiny splits at the receiver have been epoxied. Other than that, it's in great shape.
The length of pull measures 14 1/4".
The splinter style forend has a nose latch. It too shows handling marks but retains its original integrity with no splits or cracks.
The cased colors have since faded from the metal.
The metal shows small scroll engraving with borders.
The original bluing is in good shape, with minor handling marks.
The bore is bright and shiny.
The barrels measure 28" in length and are chambered for 2.75" shells (stamped on the barrel).
The left barrel has a .735 bore and a .706 choke. The right barrel has a .736 bore and a .723 choke.
It has been nitro proofed at 1 1/4.
Serial number is 75032 and dates it to 1906.
The gun weighs 7 5/8 lbs.
Mechanically, this gun is in excellent functioning condition and shoots well. The lock-up is tight.
Does not come with the original box or paperwork.
