This Flli Rizzini R2E Sideplate shotgun is in great, used condition.
This shotgun was manufactured during the Puccinelli era of Rizzini.The straight style English stock is crafted from a gorgeous piece of select Turkish walnut with a hand-rubbed oil finish, a leather pad, and fine cut hand checkering. It shows lovely patterns of dark streaking and feather crotch. Overall, the stock is in excellent condition, with very few minor handling marks and retains its original integrity with no splits or cracks. Length of pull measures 14 3/4" over a 1/2" leather pad. The drop at the comb measures 1 3/4". The drop at the heel measures 2 3/8".
The beavertail style forend is also crafted from select Turkish walnut. It too features fine cut checkering, a hand-rubbed oil finish, and has a push button style release. It's in excellent condition, with very few minor handling marks and retains its original integrity with no splits or cracks. Barrels measure 26" in length and feature a checkered rib & silver front bead. They have been rust blued and are in great shape, with some wear at the breech with some minor handling marks. The coin-finished receiver shows engraving by Walter Patelli.
The fine scrollwork is paired with a grouse in forest scene on the left hand sideplate, a pheasant in an upland scene on the right sideplate, and a woodcock in forest scene on the bottom. It's in great shape, with minor handling marks and small spots of wear.
Shotgun has a single selective trigger and ejectors. The lock-up is tight. It weighs 6.5 lbs. Comes with a set of five Briley chokes: skeet, improved cylinder, light modified, modified, and improved modified.
Mechanically, this gun is in excellent mechanical condition and shoots great. Comes with a case, the original paperwork, an oil cannister, snap caps, 3 turnscrews, extra mainsprings, and velvet sleeves.
