This Beretta SO3 EELL Imperial Grade 12 gauge sidelock shotgun is in fantastic, used condition. This is simply a stunning piece. This is hard to find early SO model. The shotgun is stamped XXII, indicating it was manufactured in 1966.
The gorgeous select English walnut stock and forend are nicely figured featuring dark streaking patterns. Both stock and forend feature checkering that's very nicely laid out at 28 LPI. The stock shows some minor handling marks (check the pics). The forend is in great shape, with very few minor handling marks. Both retain their original integrity with no splits or cracks. Length of pull measures 13 3/4" over a burgundy colored .5" leather pad. Remove the .5" pad and install a 1" pad to extend the pull to 14 1/4".
The receiver, plates, trigger guard, and top lever are coin-finished and feature 100% engraving. The design is floral scroll paired with elegant borders around gold birds. The top lever is pierced with an inlaid gold crown. The barrels are made from Boehler Antinit steel. The original blued finish is in 99% condition. They measure 28" in length, are chambered for 2.75" shells, feature a vent rib, and have a white front bead. The trigger and pins are gold washed. Bores are perfect.
Mechanically, this shotgun is in excellent functioning condition and shoots great. Comes with a set of five Briley chokes: improved cylinder, modified, full, and 2 skeet chokes. Does not come with a case, box, or paperwork.
